[ link ] [ link ] 17 - For the first time, scientists claim that the asteroid 24021-Loki is likely on a collision course with earth. Further speculation makes the likelihood look like a certainty. | September | 12 - Authorities announce that the 'Rift' in Tompkins Square Park has closed without explanation. The park remains under quarantine. [ link ] 9 - Another altercation at the site of the 'Rift' leaves several soldiers dead. Two mutants identified as Zoe McMillian and Erik Lensherr - presumably those originating from the other Manhattan - cross back into their own world. [ link ] 4 - A Xavier's student, 18 year old Honor Prentiss,dies in a tragic accident resulting from an altercation with another student. | August | 23 - The government acknowledges the existence of a 'Rift' leading to a destroyed Manhattan. They assure the public that the situation is under control. [ link ] 22 - An outbreak of violence in Tompkins Square Park leaves dozens dead. Rumors report that one mutant was taken into custody and another, recognizable as Zoe McMillian, escaped. [ link ] 12 - An anonymous soldier posts pictures online that purport to be from an alternate reality, accessible through Tompkins Park. [ link ] 10 - Random violence shuts down the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store when customers begin an altercation. Several people are taken into custody. The cause of the fight is unknown. [ link ] 4 - The National Guard is called in to create a security zone in Tompkins Square Park. Authorities refuse to explain. [ link ] 2 - The NYPD sets up a cordon in Tompkins Square Park, and grainy videos begin circulating on YouTube purporting to be of a destroyed Manhattan. They are widely dismissed as hoaxes. Rumors of uniformed mutants appearing circulated in response.
