December

22 - State and federal authorities seize hundreds of weapons. Several suspects are accused of selling guns to organizations and individuals on the terrorist watch list. [ link ]

18 - The New York Times publishes a statement by the mutant known as Magneto, in which he apologizes for the problems recent Brotherhood activities have caused for mutants and discusses his attack on Jean Grey and Warren Worthington, III. [ link ]

12 - The body of Charles Mesreau is found in the East River with markings on his body that indicate he was a member of the Friends of Humanity. [ link ]

2 - A benefit concert for the 11/9 Purity Massacre Victims and the NYPD is held at Madison Square Gardens, attracting such entertainers as RPL and The Sporks. It is broadcast nationally on NBC and raises $3.6 million.

1 - Magneto drops a Hummer on Greenwich Apartments and destroys five floors, including the residences of Dr. Jean Grey and Warren Worthington, III. [ link ]

21 - The mutilated corpse of a Friends of Humanity member is found in Central Park. [ link ]

18 - John Grey is returned to his family. Details are vague.

17 - The body of Sabella Miller, who had been declared dead in August, is found in Central Park with her heart removed and burned. An investigation into the handling of the case begins. [ link ]

16 - An editorial in the New York Times by journalist Leah Canto seems to reveal that John Grey, father of mutant and mutant activist Jean Grey, is being held by the Friends of Humanity. [ link ]

15 - President Roger Lowe speaks at a Memorial Service for the 11/9 Purity Massacre victims. He signs into law a bill which requires mandatory registration for convicted criminals who are known to be mutants. [ link ] [ link ]

13 - A mass hallucination reminiscent of October's Central Park incident occurs in the Bay Horse, a bar in midtown. [ link ]

11 - The Mandatory Mutant Criminal Registration Act is passed in the House.

10 - Video footage of the Purity massacre appears online. It is disturbingly graphic. [ link ]

9 - A rally for the activist group 'Purity' explodes in chaos when the Brotherhood of Mutants attacks. Thirty-two are declared dead, including four police officers who were at the rally to preserve the peace. Tensions surrounding mutants are high in the city, and acts of vandalism and harrassment toward both confirmed and suspected mutants spread. [ link ] [ link ] [ link ]

6 - The NYPD and FDNY hold a charity auction for the Cystric Fibrosis Foundation. Lt. Matt Kessler of the FDNY is sold to businesswoman and socialite Emma Frost for a record $22,000. [ link ]

October

27 - Central Park is hit by a series of destructive calamaties. Officials are uncertain about the details, but there are suggestions of 'mass hallucinations.' Several citizens are injured. [ link ]

September

29 - An underground radio station, called 'Purity FM,' appears in the city. The station appears to be broadcast at short range from a van which moves location regularly. [ link ]

27 - The Mandatory Mutant Criminal Registration bill passes in the Senate and is sent to the House for deliberation. [ link ]

18 - Authorities identify Senate aide Jackson Kincaide as the man responsible for the attack on the Senate floor. Kincaide is revealed to have ties to the Friends of Humanity. [ link ]

16 - Several explosions rock a city block, the result of a rampage by two Brotherhood of Mutants members, identified as St. John Allerdyce and 'Padraig.' [ link ]

8 - There is an attack on the Senate floor that involves some sort of gas and leaves one Senator (Andrew Lewis, D-Illinois) dead and several others injured. It ends the filibuster. [ link ]

2 - Several Senators declare that they will "talk the 'unfair and unconstitutional' Mandatory Mutant Registration Act to its death" and begin a filibuster.

August

28 - Scott Summers is involved in a violent confrontation with an unknown "'small greenish man with weird legs,' thought to be a well-known Brotherhood terrorist," in a local Albertsons. He is removed to a private hospital for medical treatment. [ link ]

27 - A friendly pro-mutant march, led by Jean Grey, takes place in Greenwich Village. It is followed by a family barbeque. [ link ]

26 - The US Senate introduces a bill that would require all convicted criminals who are known mutants to be registered without their consent. [ link ]

19 - The chromified corpse of murdered Friends of Humanity member Henry Gyrich is stolen from its grave. [ link ]

14 - The two cops linked to the Sabella Miller case, Chris Rossi and Vincent Lazzaro, are attacked by a pair of teenage mutants. Both received medical care. [ link ]

9 - The first Mutant Registration centers open in fourteen major cities across the US. [ link ]

5 - Sabella Miller is pronounced dead after taking a suicide pill while in interrogation with detectives Chris Rossi and Vincent Lazzaro. Internal investigation on the matter begins. [ link ]

1 - Businesswoman and entertainment tycoon Sabella Miller is arrested in relation to the murder of Daemon Valentine. [ link ]

July

31 - A correctional facility near New York City is broken into. Several mutants held there under high-security are released. Two guards were killed, and "many prisoners involved in mutant hate crimes . . . have been deliberately assassinated." This includes known Friends of Humanity member Henry Gyrich. Witnesses place the terrorist Erik Lensherr, or 'Magneto,' at the site, confirming that the break-in is the work of the Brotherhood of Mutants. [ link ]

8 - Daemon Valentine and an unknown female assailant fall seven stories. Valentine is killed, while the assailant walks away. [ link ]

7 - The US Senate passes a bill that puts Voluntary Mutant Registration into effect by a 17 vote margin. Within days, protests spring up in the form of black armbands worn by those who appose the MRA. [ link ] [ link ]

June

25 - The US House of Representatives passes the Voluntary Mutant Registration Act and passes it to the Senate. [ link ]

14 - An amateur video which shows the execution of a wolf-like mutant is released to news stations. The Friends of Humanity claim responsiblity and state that the murder was "in direct response for the murder of Jasmine Crowe on the 30th May." Police respond by forming a task force to deal with the FoH. [ link ]

May

30 - A young woman is found murdered in a New York alleyway with the words 'Mutant Rule' sprayed on the wall above the body. [ link ]

26 - The body of Nathan Rice is found in a trash dumpster. [ link ]

20 - Businessman Nathaniel Rice is reported missing. [ link ]

20 - Warren Worthington is confirmed alive. [ link ]

6 - Five days after his disappearance, noted businessman and philanthropist Warren Worthington, III, is officially declared 'missing.' [ link ]

March

15 - An airplane enroute to LA is hijacked and rerouted to Edmonton, Canada. No passengers are injured or killed. Mutant involvement is suspected.

10 - President Lowe holds a public awards ceremony in Central Park and awards Jean Grey and Sabitha Melcross with the Presidential Medal of Honor. He also awards Officer Alan Therman with the NYPD's Medal of Honor. The ceremony is followed by an invitation-only ball in honor of the recipients.

February

25 - During a rally in Central Park, there is an assassination attempt on President Lowe's life. During the course of events, Dr. Jean Grey is revealed as a powerful mutant who is capable of blocking a bomb's explosion. Sabitha Melcross makes news by moving through the chaos to usher Lowe into a waiting helicopter.

January

20 - Roger Lowe is sworn in as President of the United States.
