Policies: Gameplay

Consent

We are a limited consent game. This means that if you play it, you reap it. In-character actions mean in-character consequences (ICA=ICC).

As a rule, we prefer for Awesome ICA to equal Awesome ICC, and try to keep characters playable as often as possible, but we do expect that doing so is a cooperative process.

You always have control of your characters actions in roleplay. The limit comes in when such actions demand consequences. If these would be severe, we will always try to give you sufficient warning of the possibility, but we also expect everyone to use good judgment, common sense, and communication in their roleplay.

If you find yourself in a situation where you cannot agree on the IC outcome of a certain situation, you may page a staff member to act as mediator. This should be a last resort, however.

Game Rating

The game is generally rated R for in-scene language and adult situations, but please keep it off public channels and out of OOC rooms. Also, be aware of the general tone of the game. We are an X-Men game, and we do deal with some darker subject matters, however, we ask that you be sensitive to other players and be sure that violence and explicit situations are a part of character development through RP rather than incidental, gratuitous, and continuous.

Additionally, we ask that out of courtesy for your fellow players, you place any explicit scenes or text behind a cut-tag and post a warning, particularly in issues of abuse

IC Communication
Because of our theme, XMM:XF relies a lot on clear, consistent IC communication.

Suggestions & Helpful Tips:Player Run Plots

We actively encourage players to stir up RP by running missions, training events, or anything else that stirs their fancy. For our complete Player Run Plot policy, please see Missions & Plots.

Spoofing

Do not spoof another character in roleplay unless that player has given you consent to do so. In some instances, staff may grant this consent if the character's presence is unavoidable and the player is not available. In general we prefer to assume characters in the background or to work around them entirely where possible.

In addition, do not attribute actions to or spoof FCs who are not currently PC without staff approval.

TinySex

We know it happens, but use common sense. The game is rated R for in-scene language and adult situations, but keep it off public channels and out of OOC rooms. While LJs are considered private and not game property, we also request that, out of consideration for your fellow players, you avoid using explicit language in the entries and cut-tags of logs and mark them if they contain sexually explicit material.
