Policies: Consequences & Mediation
While we always encourage players to work issues out between themselves, we recognize that occasionally this is not possible or feasible. Players are entitled to ask for intervention by staff in cases where they cannot reach a satisfactory resolution or take immediate action themselves. This includes theme enforcement, IC/OOC bleed, player-player conflicts that have become antagonistic or unproductive, and player-staff conflicts, among others. In the case of the latter, if you feel that a staff member's behavior has been inappropriate or their decision unfair, you may appeal to the Player Management group through a written complaint. The PM Staff will render a final judgment upon the issue, so we advise you to be as mature in your appeal as possible.
The process for lodging a complaint is simple: @send *pms or email us with a clear explanation of your complaint. If at all possible, include logged proof of the incident. If it is a pattern of behavior you are addressing, include as many specific examples as possible. The more information you give us, the clearer the picture is for us. We will then discuss the complaint and get back with you.
As a rule, the game staff prefer to have a hands-off approach to player relationships . However, occasionally situations occur where issues are not resolvable between players. If at anytime there is an issue that is hampering role play and you are not able to come to mutual agreement, please contact a member of Player Management.
Game staff will determine the level of intervention necessary, unless mediation is directly requested. If that step, which we consider a last recourse for the inter-player relationship, is required, both sides of the conflict will be asked to list their grievances and submit them to the Player Management group before a meeting is called with both parties and a PM Staffer to act as mediator.
Consistent disregard for the rules and mores of the game will result in a member of Staff speaking with you. The exact procedure followed may vary depending upon player attitude and history, and the seriousness of the offense, but typically you will be warned unofficially, then warned officially. If the behavior continues, strikes will be placed on your record. After the third strike, you will be removed from the game. If the violation is serious enough, any and all of these steps may be skipped.
Any violations of rules or harassment should be logged and reported directly to Player Management Staff.
