Organizations

On XMM, we divide groups of people into two categories: factions and organizations.

Factions are the larger groups on-game, and they often have several 'organizations' that exist within them. Everyone belongs to a faction, and the default faction is 'Citizen.' Many characters remain citizens for their entire time on the game. It's unusual to belong to more than one faction at a time and tends to be difficult to change factions, ICly.

Organizations are smaller groups, sometimes within a faction, which link people together. Characters may belong to several organizations at once, and may usually add and drop organizations without significant IC penalty.

Although some factions and organizations allow you to apply directly into them, others require that you RP into membership. Please consult the 'Joining' section at the bottom of each faction or organization's page for more information.

If you're interested in joining a faction or organization through RP, talk to a member of Player Management staff to find out who the faction contact is.
