Friends of Humanity

Friends of Humanity

Beliefs

"We, the Friends of Humanity, pledge to hunt down and destroy every dangerous mutant that threatens the safety of humans. The failure of the police and other authorities to deal with such mutants has forced men such as us to stand up and defend ourselves from the menace. There are mutants in existence who have vowed to make the human race slaves, to be downtrodden by those who consider themselves superior.

Such mutants must not be allowed to reign. We must take up arms together and fight off those who attack our friends, our families, our children! They threaten our livelihood, our very existence, and what do incompetents in power do? Not enough! We are the only people defending the human race from murderous mutants!

Yet we are reviled, hunted. Why? Because many of those in power are corrupt! They shall be thrust out to be replaced by honest people, people who will do their utmost to protect the peace of our land. We don't hate all mutants, we don't want to destroy them all. We simply want to protect ourselves, to attain peace. We're not afraid of killing. A dangerous mutant is better dead than wandering the streets, where they can cause untold harm."

Organization

The Friends of Humanity. Scorned and detested by some, hailed as heroes by others. It's rare to find someone without an opinion on the group, and their existence is no secret. Their public mission is to protect and serve the human race by eradicating the dangerous mutants, though political force is a growing concept. In reality, the eventual aims include destruction of all mutants. With a number of deeply conservative strongholds in the Southern States, the FoH has struggled to gain a true footing in the more cosmopolitan North, in cities like New York.

In that fine city, they have recently re-established themselves under the directives of the mysterious figure of Prime, a man never seen in public, though all official communications bear his name. The other members are secretive, most leading perfectly normal lives in addition to their duties with the FoH. Unranked initiates form the rank and file, members of the underclass with no hope, no opportunities, and with the need to blame someone. It's generally accepted to work under an assumed name when joining the Friends, to better hide oneself. The official meetings of the FoH are steeped in ritual, members given titles and ranks befitting their performance, style and responsibilities. The most important ritual of all is that of indoctrination, where an aspiring person becomes an official initiate of the FoH.
